Communications Specialist

National Co+op Grocers (NCG) is accepting applications for the full-time position of Communications Specialist. The Communications Specialist creates, implements and oversees communications programs that effectively describe and promote NCG and its programs and services to stakeholders including NCG staff, NCG co-ops, consumers and industry.

NCG is a member-owned purchasing and business service cooperative providing a variety of services to retail food co-ops in 38 states. NCG helps unify food co-ops in order to optimize operational and marketing resources, strengthen purchasing power, and offer more value to food co-op shoppers everywhere. NCG provides a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible communications experience and be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of effective communications strategies and systems, create effective messaging for specific audiences using a variety of media, and plan and deliver presentations for large groups of people. Outstanding writing and editing skills preferred. Applicants must be able to effectively manage multiple priorities and be willing to grow in the role to meet the changing requirements of the job. Knowledge of the retail food industry and retail food cooperatives is a plus. This position reports to the Marketing Programs Manager and will be located in NCG's Saint Paul, MN, office.
