Iowa City, IA – Today, National Co+op Grocers (NCG) – the business services cooperative for retail food co-ops across the United States – announced the transition of two associate co-ops to membership status.
Both new members initially joined NCG as associate co-ops in October 2015. Additionally, both new members are relatively young co-ops: East Aurora Cooperative Market in East Aurora, N.Y., opened last year, while Fiddleheads Natural Foods Co-op in New London, Conn., opened its retail store in 2008.

East Aurora Cooperative Market
East Aurora Cooperative Market is a new co-op located in East Aurora, N.Y. The co-op opened the doors to its first retail location in June 2016 after six years of organizing work by a committed group of its now 2,600+ owners, with the support of NCG’s Development Co+operative team.
Fiddleheads Natural Foods Co-op
Formed in 2002 and in development for six years before its 2008 retail opening, Fiddleheads Natural Foods Co-op is in an urban and culturally diverse downtown area of New London, Conn. After nine years of growth, the co-op has nearly 2,800 owners and annual sales of more than $3.6 million.
