NCGA Welcomes Two Associate Co-ops

Oct 01, 2014

National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA), a business services cooperative for retail food co-ops across the United States, today announced the addition of two associate co-ops in Minnesota, bringing the total number of co-ops in the association to 144 co-ops in 38 states, with combined annual sales of more than $1.6 billion.

“We’re delighted to welcome Good Earth Food Co-op and Spiral Natural Foods Co-op and the communities they serve to NCGA,” said Robynn Shrader, chief executive officer. “In 2014 alone, we’ve welcomed eight new co-ops to our association, all working together for better food, stronger communities and a healthier world. Food co-ops have spent the last decades at the forefront of virtually every positive reform in the food industry, and as we welcome new co-ops, we can do even more to improve our food systems and grow the cooperative economy.”
